How to write a resume that gets interviews (2026)
A step-by-step guide to writing your resume — contact details, summary, experience and skills — with examples for the Thai job market.
A great resume is not long — it is clear, concise and results-driven. Recruiters spend under 10 seconds on a first pass. This guide walks you through each section so you make that cut.
1. Contact details
Full name, target job title, phone, a professional email and your city. Add LINE ID or LinkedIn — many Thai employers contact candidates on LINE.
2. Profile summary
Two or three sentences: who you are, years of experience, your strengths and one headline achievement, e.g. “Digital marketer with 5 years’ experience; grew online sales 180% in one year.”
3. Work experience
- Reverse chronological order
- 3–5 bullet points per role, starting with action verbs
- Quantify everything you can: revenue, budget, team size
4. Education
Degree, major, school and graduation year. Fresh graduates can add GPA (if above 3.00) and relevant activities.
5. Skills & languages
List tools you actually use (Excel, Canva, SAP…) and your English level with a score such as TOEIC or IELTS.
6. Thai-style personal details
Many Thai companies still ask for date of birth, nationality, religion, marital and military status. International companies usually do not — tailor it to each application.
Final tips
- Keep it to 1–2 pages
- Always send a PDF
- Use a clear file name, e.g. Resume-Natthida-Marketing.pdf
- Tailor your resume to every job ad
